These systems support the driver within the system limits, increasing safety and minimising downtime, which reduces follow-up costs and ensures greater vehicle availability. Furthermore, the MAN TGE is effectively protected against digital manipulation.

A whole team of assistance systems is ready to support the driver in his challenging task in daily traffic - for an even safer and more comfortable driving experience. Within the limits of the system, it ensures that the driver does not fall asleep, keeps the vehicle in lane or even initiates emergency braking if necessary. In addition to the safety-related assistants, there is also a wide range of comfort functions available, such as the Intelligent Speed Assist. If you would like even more support, you can now take driving comfort to the next level with additional optional functions for active and passive road safety.

The MAN TGE Next Level sets new standards in terms of serial assistance systems to give the driver, co-driver and other road users the best possible protection. These include Active Lane Keeping Assist, Intelligent Speed Assist, Drive Off Warning¹ and Blind Spot Warning¹.

But that’s not all: The MAN TGE also offers a wide range of innovative assistance systems to make your everyday work easier. Whether parking, driving off, reversing, turning or manoeuvring, your invisible co-pilot is always at your side and has an extra pair of eyes ready to help. This not only makes your job easier, it makes it safer too.

1. Emergency Brake Assist (standard)

The Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) helps avoid collisions with the vehicle in the front. It assists the driver with automatic braking and provides visual and acoustic warnings if the distance is too short. It can also initiate automatic emergency braking¹. Plus, the integrated pedestrian and cyclist detection further increases road safety.

2. Traffic Sign Information (standard)

The Traffic Sign Information records current signals and traffic signs via the multifunction camera or from the navigation and route data and shows them to the driver on the infotainment display and in the digital instrument panel. This means that nothing important escapes the driver's attention. An EU-Intelligent Speed Assist determines the speed limit and emits a visual and acoustic warning signal if the speed limit is exceeded based on the traffic signs detected and route data looking ahead.

3. Active Lane Keeping Assist (standard)

As if there were a second driver: the Active Lane Keeping Assist helps the driver to keep the vehicle in its lane. The course of the lane boundaries is recorded by a camera. If necessary, the system helps with steering interventions. In addition, the system warns by means of steering wheel vibration or an acoustic signal if a lane marking is crossed unintentionally.

4. Drive Off Warning^1,3

Drive Off Warning always helps you get off to a good start. It uses radar sensors to monitor the area in front of the car. This makes it much easier to avoid collisions with pedestrians or cyclists when pulling away. The monitoring range of the collision warning can be supplemented by the Blind Spot Warning^2,3 on the left side, on the right side or on both sides.

5. Cruise Assist¹

This assistance system uses a combination of ACC Stop & Go, Active Lane Keeping Assist and Traffic Jam Assist to help the driver maintain distance, speed and lane position. The MAN TGE Next Level actively intervenes in events with semi-automatic control of braking and acceleration processes and lateral steering wheel movements for lane keeping. This ensures safe transport within the limits of the system.

6. Cruise Assist Plus^1,5

This system is an extension of the Cruise Assist to include the Emergency Assist, which also brakes automatically to a standstill within the limits of the system.

7. Emergency Assist ⁴

Call it a guardian angel. We call it Emergency Assist. It permanently monitors whether the driver is operating the steering wheel, gas and brake pedal. In the event of a health impairment or loss of driving ability, the driver may no longer be able to act. In this case, the Emergency Assist takes over vehicle control to bring the vehicle to a stop and then secures it by activating the hazard warning lights and other safety functions.

8. Blind Spot Warning ^2,3

As if there were an extra pair of eyes. Radar sensors monitor the blind spot area next to the vehicle (left or right, depending on the position of the steering wheel, or optionally on both sides). This significantly reduces the risk of collision with other road users, especially when turning.

9. Turn Assist¹

The Turn Assist monitors oncoming traffic within the system limits during a turning manoeuvre. This advanced system can now also detect when an oncoming vehicle crosses the expected lane of the turning vehicle. If an impending collision is detected, the system automatically initiates braking due to the short reaction time, while simultaneously warning the driver with an acoustic signal.

Crosswind Assist:

Helps the driver stay safely in lane when there is a crosswind or when the road slopes to
one side.

Fatigue Detection:

The system identifies any signs of driver fatigue by detecting deviations from normal driving behaviour and prompts the driver to take a break with an acoustic and visual signal.

High Beam Assist¹:

High beam assist analyses light conditions and switches the high beams on and off (partially) automatically if the system detects vehicles ahead or oncoming. This prevents other road users from being dazzled.

Light/Rain Sensor¹:

The system automatically controls the headlamps and windscreen wipers in dark, rainy conditions.

Hill Ascend Assist:

Prevents the vehicle from rolling backwards, helping you to move off on uphill gradients.

Parking Assist:

It uses acoustic and visual signals to inform the driver of the distance to the front and rear of the vehicle when parking and manoeuvring.

Park Steering Assist¹:

The Park Steering Assist helps drivers park in parallel and perpendicular spaces. First, sensors detect the parking space and display its suitable size to the driver. During assisted parking, the driver operates the accelerator and brake pedals while the parking assistant takes control of the steering. If the car is going too fast or a collision is imminent, the system will automatically initiate emergency braking.

Rear View Camera System with dynamic guidelines¹:

This function provides the driver with a view to the rear directly onto the free-standing infotainment display. Dynamic guidelines improve orientation and continuously adapt to the route. For vehicles without a parking aid, e.g. box bodies with tail lifts, the reversing camera fulfils the legally required rear area monitoring.

ABS and ESP:

The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is an extension of the Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS).
It initiates targeted braking of individual wheels to prevent the vehicle from skidding.
